Are you struggling with your trauma and don’t know what to do? Do you know that you need to seek mental health resources but don’t know where to look?
The Survival Guide was created with you in mind after several inquiries about how Zu has become so comfortable discussing her trauma, forgiving those who have harmed her, and actively working through her healing process. This Survival Guide workbook will challenge what you believe to be true about your lived experiences. Use this guide to get a better understanding of your own traumas and how to navigate them.
The Survival Series was birthed after the author’s revelation that she too was raised on survival after living most of her life, believing she was raised on love. While Zu knows without a doubt that her parents love her, she faced traumas, adversities and challenges that forced her into survival mode, significantly affecting her character development.
In Season I, Zu takes you through her journey of self-discovery after a series of generational traumas, including her parents’ separation, parentification as an adolescent, sexual abuse, colorism, heartbreak and betrayal. One day she decided she would not be shamed out of speaking her truth despite how it may look to others. She refused to feel badly about her decision to break generational curses that have been passed on for so many generations before her. These are true stories and lessons Zu has learned that she hopes will help heal our community.
